Casie’s Living The Palace Life in Cancun – Part 2

Grand at Moon Palace Cancun blew my mind away! If you have kids this is the resort for your family.

The water park was my favorite! There are three slides, a wave pool, lazy river and a water park for the young ones. In the same area is the kids center which includes bumper cars, arcade games, glow in the dark mini golf and so much more! The kids Center was perfect for a rainy day. I may have had a little too much fun but my inner child definitely came out!

Travel tips:

In order to ride one of the water slides you must be 5’3

Bumper cars are for 5-17 year olds

Once again, Palace Resorts goes above and beyond for their clients. If you have a child celebrating their birthday while on vacation they will throw a birthday party for them. Before your arrival let them know what kind of theme or color and what kind of cake they would like. The staff will do their best to accommodate it. While I was there they were throwing one that was Paw Patrol themed. Super cool! Such a small gesture that goes a long way for the little ones.

When you stay at the Grand you also have access to Moon Palace Cancun, transfers between resorts are complimentary. Over at the Moon Palace they have a flow rider that’s fun for kids and adults! You have the option to surf or knee board.

Don’t worry adults they have not forgotten about you! You have the option to relax at the Adults Only Pool or treat yourself to the spa. There is also a golf resort on site! After all it is your vacation to enjoy as well!

Travel tip: don’t forget you can use your resort credits and only pay the tax on spa and golf.

ROYALTON NEGRIL – Hotel Review

Casie recently vacationed at the luxurious Royalton Negril.  She stayed in the adults only Hideaway section.   Here is her hotel review.

Location: Directly on the beach about 1.5/2 hours from Montego Bay airport. We didn’t go into town so I’m not sure how long it would take. There is a little market across the street we walked too which was very convenient!

Beach: I found the beach at the Hideaway pretty small and secluded but not as nice as the amazing beach on the Royalton side. There was a bit of seaweed but nothing too bad and nothing more than expected travelling to the Caribbean in the summer.

Pool Areas: There are three pools throughout the resort, all infinity pools with swim up bars and a kids pool.

  1. The Hideaway one was nice since it was adults only but busy.  They did bring a couple options for lunch over to the bar. The day we were there they had chicken wings and jerk chicken wraps. They had water aerobics daily.
  2. Main Pool at Royalton was the biggest. They had lounge chairs in the pool. Right beside the bar is a grill. We only spent an hour at this pool because it was too busy for us.
  3. Diamond Club Pool in the Royalton section is where we went every day. They also had the lounge chairs in the pool and a couple fountains. There was a Diamond Club Beach Bar beside it. You could order food off the menu with good selection. They also had entertainment everyday here; trivia, dancers, steel drum band, dance lessons and water aerobics.
  4. Kids Pool had a waterpark with a bucket that dumps on you when it gets full.  It looked like a lot of fun.

Restaurants: At the Hideaway there are two a la cartes, Ocean Bistro and Dorado. We went to Dorado a few times for breakfast and supper once. The food and service was great!

Royalton had the buffet. We ate breakfast here the first couple days. Food was as expected for a buffet.

We did two a la carte’s on the Royalton side, Hunter Steakhouse and the Italian. Both were really good! Service at the steakhouse was good but we did have to wait a while for a Mojitio.  The Italian also offered take away pizza throughout the day. The best pizza I have had at an all-inclusive!

Royalton had a cafe in their lobby. My friend got Gelato our first night. I had the soft ice cream and it was really good!

There was also a Sports Bar on the Royalton side. We went a couple nights.  This is also where the disco is but I don’t think it’s open every night. We only saw a DJ there once. There was food here too.

Room Service: We ordered room service a few times which was super easy! You can do it off the TV then they will call to reconfirm your order. Besides the long wait the food was good! My favorite was their chicken noodle soup. I ordered it every time! Their options were; fruit platter, shrimp, chicken noodle soup, wrap and sandwiches, Caesar salad and chicken fingers.

Room: We were in the Diamond Club Luxury Junior Suite Ocean View which was super nice!! The toilet and shower are separate with the double sink and bathtub in the open. We had two queen beds. Our wrist band was our room key which was very handy!

The BEST Thing at Hyatt Ziva Rose Hall – Karen’s In Jamaica

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

I often talk about how important experiences are to me and the Hyatt Ziva Rose Hall did not disappoint. The very first place I found when I arrived at this resort was the sweet shop – BiteZ.  And guess what? It was close to my room!  It was love at first sight.  BiteZ has all of the sweets you could imagine with cookies, cakes and ice cream. They have an amazing display with so many things it was hard to pick just one. They also serve ice coffees; my favorite. The best part of it all would have to be the chocolate fountain and all of the treats available to dip in it!   All of this is included with your stay. Sometimes if you are lucky you can come across a chocolate making class as well! Find this great place early in your trip and you will find yourself turning down desserts with your meals just so you can visit BiteZ.

JERK CHICKEN – KAREN’S IN JAMAICA

34687021_10160753410730508_6633330577808293888_n Jerk Chicken.jpgWhen I go on vacation it is not always about the place I sleep.  I want an experience that I can take home. Today I made that memory.  Today at the Zoetry Montego Bay I visited their jerk chicken shack. Now, everyone has told me before going that I must try this in Jamaica. I will be honest, I was skeptical. I have tried many dishes around the world that blew my mind. This did not disappoint. Not only was the food so amazing that it would go on my list of top 5 meals of all time but it was the experience that made it for me. Everyone was there to welcome me and show me around the “kitchen” The music was playing in the background and the view was top notch. I have a video of this to share with everyone when I return if you want to see more. So far this is my favorite Jamaican moment.

I’m off to the Hyatt Zilara later today.   I can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!

Zoetry Montego Bay Resort Tour

El Dorado Royale – Amanda’s Riviera Maya Adventure Part 3

Well friends, I’m sad to say goodbye to this lively place. I have done some fun activities and ate at some new restaurants at the resort, along with meeting some great new employees.

I took some fun Salsa and Meringue lessons led by the entertainment team. It’s always good to learn some new steps and meet new people. Spanish music always makes people feel like dancing. I also had a try at archery. I did pretty well for my first time.

We used some bicycles from our resort and took our own tour along the beach. We went all the way from the end of our resort, went by the Casitas resort and ended at the Generations resort. These are all very pretty Karisma resorts. It was good to see what they were like.

We ate at a restaurant called La Pizzeria and had some fresh oven baked pizza, with some nachos and guacamole. I love the health bar onsite for yummy smoothies and tasty treats. Our last meal was at the Kampau restaurant at the Casita resort. It was highly recommended by people we spoke to. There was really great Oriental food with lots of selection. There are even options for those who don’t prefer sushi or seafood.

The evening shows are all really great. Since my previous post we have seen amazing fire dancers, more acrobats, and ended the last night with Golden stars. There were singers and dancers performing songs by ABBA, Rihanna, Madonna, just to name a few. They were all amazing to watch. 20171217_222309

I must say the resort was relaxing and quiet, but also had some fun activities and entertainment if you choose to participate. There are many options depending on your vacation preferences. The customer service there is phenomenal and they always say “it’s a pleasure”.

Thanks for tuning in and feel free to contact me about a vacation at a Karisma property or anywhere else you may want to go.   You can reach me at 306-934-3400 or amanda@uniglobevacation.comGracias.

Czarina’s Huatulco Holiday – Part 3

Hux

Tangolunda Bay

Our last days were quickly approaching so we thought it was time to visit one of the small towns nearby.  The town of La Crucecita is a quick 5 minute drive/$5USD cab ride from Dreams Huatulco.  It’s the closest resort town near the Huatulco hotel zone.

We arrived around 6pm to the main square on the weekend.  At first it was a little intimidating since there are lots of people walking around this smaller square area.  After a couple of minutes, the small bits of worry were gone when we saw all the neat stores and restaurants.

If you are looking for good deals on trinkets this is your “jam”.  I didn’t even have to barter back in forth with the sales people.  Everything is so darn cheap!    I love it!  Though I have loads of junk at home, we always bring back small gifts for those back home.  This year everyone will receive a magnet… J

No visit to La Crucecita is complete without a stop at La Crema Bar!  It’s a pizza joint run 25139283_10159643156795024_1444285742_oby some local hippies.  It was some of the best pizza I’ve ever had and I’ve been a pizza connoisseur since the 80s.  An extra large Hawaiian pizza with 3 large lime margaritas and 1 chocolate milk cost us an even $24USD.  Not bad at all for a great meal!

I’ve fallen in love with Huatulco and will definitely return again to experience this lovely destination!

If you are interested in visiting Huatulco or have any questions about this amazing part of Mexico please feel free to reach out to me at 306-934-3400 or czarina@uniglobevacation.com.
