Colleen’s Sandals Bahamas – Part one!

We left today for our trip to Sandals Bahamas and we had a 4 hour stop in Toronto so we decided to buy passes to go into the Premium Plaza Lounge.  I am really a glad that we did as it is great to get out of the airport noise.  We arrived at 6:30 from the red eye to a full breakfast of hashbrowns, scrambled eggs and sausage.  The lounge had the full breakfast plus cereal, toast and drinks.  If you have a long layover you should think about buying a lounge pass.  One of our agents can help you with that.  After a quick nap it’s back out to the gate to catch our flight.  Next stop Nassau.

We arrived in Nassau and customs is a breeze.  We are through and at the Sandals desk in about 15 minutes.  Nice!  If you have ever been trough customs in Cancun, you will know what I mean.  After a wait of about 10 minutes we are off to the resort.  Just a short 15 minutes and we are pulling into Sandals Bahamas.  I immediately remember why I love Sandals.  We are greeted by great staff with a cold cloth and a welcome drink.  There are no kids, no wrist bands and no towel card; could it get much better than that?  Yes it can!  You are taken to a beautiful couch given a glass of champagne and then given your registration card.  When you are done you are taken to your room by a staff member answering questions along the way.  Our bags will follow.  We are staying in the Balmoral Tower in room 309.  We have a beautiful room facing the ocean.  We have arrived in paradise and loving it.

Nicole’s Barbados Final Blog

I honestly think this day was my favourite day! It was the most relaxing. We did a catamaran and swam with fish and the sea turtles. If you want a day to catch some sun and relax eat, lunch and have a few drinks, this is perfect thing for you to do! We started pretty early; we were on the catamaran by 9am. They toured the island a bit to show us some of the properties and more. The staff were extremely friendly and were there to make the time a blast!

Once we reached where the fish were; we had to be prepared as they threw bread in the water to get them to come right up to our faces. I’m not one to be right in with the fish bumping into me, but it was a blast to see all the fish eating and within a arm’s length away. We got about 20min with the fish then went back on the catamaran to eat lunch—flying fish, macaroni pie, salad, chicken. Afterwards we headed to where the turtles were. Swimming with the turtles was something I have always wanted to do… they are huge! They basically keep to themselves but when you throw sardines at the water, they come up right to the water and eat!

After we just hung out in the water on noodles. People were able to dive of the catamaran, sit on it and hang out while swimming time was available. Whatever you wanted to do you could. Then by 2pm we were back on the catamaran and back to shore for the rest of the afternoon.

I definitely recommend this tour, great fun, excellent staff and nice and relaxing.
