Colleen’s Trip to Europe – July 22nd

It has been a very busy 2 days.  Monday night we went shopping on the Champs Elysees, 15 blocks of pure pleasure.  This note is for the ladies,  July is sale month in Paris and every store in the city has between 20% – 70% off.  It’s the law!

We have been to the Sacre Coeur, Notre Dame, Latin Quarter and out to Versailles today.  Taking the subway in Paris takes a while to get the hang of but once you do, it is so easy to get around.

Paris is expensive but worth it!  The cheapest thing around is a sandwich and pop at 7.00 Euros.  When we sit down at a side walk café we are paying between 40 – 50 Euros depending on what you order and how much wine you drink 🙂

We are heading to Denmark tomorrow so we will talk to you from there.

  1. Sounds like you are having an awesome time. I hope Jarrett is feeling better. I had a big wipe out in the brochure room on Monday. Annie (our ghost) must have pushed over a stack of brochures on the weekend and I went into the brochure room to get a cruise brochure and slipped on one on the floor. I hit my head on the shelf and my hip on the metal shovel so my whole left side it a big bruise. I am going to Vegas on Sunday…Correna said when people see my shingles and bruises they will stay away from me so I should have the whole pool to myself lol. Have a wonderful holiday!

  2. Some great information for travellers to Paris. I particularly like the idea of the Fat Bike Tour – sounds like lots of fun and a great way to see Paris. Will definately have to try tha next time we go to Paris. Looking forward to hearing about Denmark!

  3. I am sooo jealous!!! Sounds like you’re having a wonderful time. Save some energy for New York.
    Love you all!!!!!!

  4. Read your blog entry after Googling “Sacre Coeur” to see why Christopher Hitchens described it as “horrible wedding-cake architecture” that resulted in a “dyspeptic expression” on his face In his introduction to “Hitch 22” he relates his experience viewing a old photograph taken by Angela Gorgas showing him looking at the Sacre Coeur. In any event, just wanted to say I enjoyed your description of your day in Paris. Wish I had such a memory.
